- Am I allowed to use a Class IV therapy laser?
K-Laser gained FDA market clearance in March 2005. Since then, chiropractors across the country have added the K-Laser to their treatment regimes. Class 4 laser therapy is FDA-cleared and is within the scope of practice for Doctors of Chiropractic.
- Can my chiropractic assistant use K-Laser?
In nearly all cases, yes. We provide thorough training which covers all aspects of operating and treating patients with K-Laser. Of course, this treatment should be delivered under your supervision. Many offices have designated a ‘laser therapy technician’ since they are so busy with K-Laser treatments. Consult your K-Laser sales representative to learn of the local regulations applicable in your area.
- How will I educate my patients about K-Laser therapy?
We have compiled an extensive array of marketing tools. The basic items will come in the Starter Pack when you purchase your K-Laser, such as patient brochures, poster, reception room DVD, web site support and more. Other items are available at a small extra charge.
- I am busy now, why should I add a K-Laser?
If you are standing still, you are falling behind. Technological advances have been making chiropractic better and better all during its one hundred-plus year history. Adding K-Laser technology to your office will take you to the next level. Your patients deserve it!
- How do I incorporate K-Laser into my office procedures?
K-LaserUSA takes great pride in offering extensive product implementation support, given by fellow chiropractors with clinical experience using the K-Laser in their own offices. Our Practice Development and Product Integration team will assess your office needs, patient flow, clinical protocols and therapy procedures to integrate K-Laser as easily as possible.
- I’ve read all the information about laser therapy, and I am still confused – can you explain it to me?
Yes, we can. We have a variety of resources available - including online webinars that could be done with you one-on-one - to help you understand the science and physiology of laser therapy.
- How does laser therapy fit in with chiropractic adjustments?
K-Laser applied before adjusting is extremely beneficial. One of the primary problems with adjustments is the natural guarding and splinting of the stabilizer muscles and ligamentous structures. K-Laser therapy eliminates this response, giving your patient a more effective, comfortable, longer lasting benefit from chiropractic treatment. Patients benefit from reduced pain and inflammation, increased range of motion and enhanced tissue repair.
- I already have ultrasound and electric muscle stimulation machines, why should I get a K-Laser?
K-Laser delivers physiological benefits that no other modality can deliver. By stimulating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production and enhancing cell membrane permeability (along with other effects) K-Laser therapy actually helps your patient’s injuries heal, rather than just masking the pain. K-Laser therapy is not a thermal treatment; it is bio-stimulatory from photochemical reactions in cellular tissue. As such, K-Laser can be used safely over metal implants and for patients with circulation and neuropathy problems.
